## What this page is

A documentary page about a personal, unpaid community initiative Lucas Mora
organized in 2023 in his hometown, West Milford, New Jersey, around the local
skatepark known as "the PIV", where he learned to skateboard. It is not an

## What happened (May and June 2023)

- Community awareness: Instagram stories explaining why the PIV mattered for
  teenagers, families, and the local skate community, and asking people for
  involvement rather than money.
- Community skate jam: Lucas organized and promoted a skate jam at the PIV
  with giveaways (skate merchandise, clothing and shirts, shoes, stickers,
  accessories, and other donated or personally supplied items).
- Community cleanup: more than 25 people showed up to clean the park. Lucas
  provided supplies and organized the effort.
- Municipal repainting: after continued advocacy, the township repainted
  areas of the park, painting over graffiti in white. Lucas documented it on
  June 14, 2023. He advocated for the work; the township did the painting.

A May 15, 2023 story states Lucas had assembled $1,000 for the skate jam. This
is quoted from his archive and is not verified event spending.

- No social media reach, impressions, attendance totals, volunteer hours, or
  giveaway values.
- The page does not claim the initiative saved the park, prevented
  demolition, or changed any redevelopment decision.

## Context from public records

Township records from 2023 reference a planned senior/community center at
Nosenzo Pond Park, with Passaic County Open Space Trust funding of up to
$750,000. At the time, Lucas understood the plans could affect the skatepark.
The records do not show a decision to demolish the skatepark.
