The brand

A New York City label built on individual expression.

Electric Sunshine is a New York City clothing brand founded in 2014. Its emphasis on individual expression and distinctive clothing gave the campaign its creative foundation: styled looks, personality, and movement.

The brand describes its approach as individually crafted clothing. A campaign for that kind of label has to show the pieces clearly while letting the people wearing them bring their own character to the frame.

Inside the production

Styled in person. Cast with care. Shot across a long day.

01

Styling the looks

Working with the clothing in person allowed Lucas to help assemble outfits around the pieces themselves. The work connected product selection with how each look would appear on a model, creating a consistent direction for the content.

02

Bringing people into the production

Lucas also helped find additional models for the shoot and appeared in the campaign himself. His contribution combined support behind the scenes with direct participation in front of the camera.

What this project demonstrates

  1. 01

    Preparing a substantial shoot

A 16 hour photo and video day needs its clothing, people, and order of looks worked out before it starts.

  2. 02

    Connecting product to picture

Selecting outfits in the store with the camera in mind, so each look is styled for how it will appear in the content.

  3. 03

    Sourcing talent

Helping bring additional models into the production so the clothing could be shown on more than one person.

  4. 04

    Creator and model

Contributing behind the scenes and in front of the camera, which keeps the creative direction consistent from setup to final frame.

  5. 05

    Promotion after the shoot
