Industry / HVAC

When the AC dies, be the company they find first.

HVAC marketing lives on a thermostat: demand explodes in the peaks, vanishes in the shoulders, and splits between panicked emergency calls and slow, researched replacements. We build systems that win the map pack when it's urgent, stay in the running when it's researched, and use maintenance plans to make the quiet months less quiet.

Demand physics

Your market runs on a thermostat.

Every HVAC marketing decision — budget, channel, timing — should answer to these four realities.

Two peaks, two troughs

Summer cooling and winter heating spike demand; spring and fall go quiet. A marketing plan that ignores this rhythm overspends when the phone rings anyway and goes silent when you need pipeline most.

Emergency vs. planned demand

A dead AC in July is won in the map pack in minutes. A 15-year-old system due for replacement is won over weeks of research. Two completely different campaigns, often for the same customer.

Ticket sizes that justify spend

Full system replacements are five-figure jobs. Even modest improvements in lead flow or close-path friction change annual revenue meaningfully — which is why tracking to job type matters, not just call counts.

The maintenance-plan flywheel

Agreements steady cash flow, fill shoulder seasons, and make you the incumbent when replacement day comes. Retention marketing isn't an afterthought in HVAC — it's the moat.

Two buyers, one customer

The 2 A.M. caller and the spreadsheet shopper are the same person.

Emergency and replacement demand need different marketing — and the companies that win both are the ones the customer already trusts by the time the big decision arrives.

  1. 01

    The emergency moment

"AC repair near me", sweating, phone in hand. Decided by map-pack position, review score and volume, and whether a human answers. Your Google Business Profile is the storefront; we treat it as the primary conversion asset.

  2. 02

    The research window

Replacement buyers compare 2–3 quotes over days or weeks. They check reviews, look for financing answers, and gravitate to the company that educated them. Content and retargeting keep you in the running until the decision.

  3. 03

    The financing question

Replacement decisions often hinge on 'how do people afford this?' A website that addresses payment plainly — without inventing offers — removes the quietest objection in the sales process.

  4. 04

    The incumbent advantage

The company that did last year's tune-up wins this year's replacement without a bidding war. Email and SMS keep that relationship warm between visits.

What we run

The HVAC system, for your HVAC system.

Weighted to your mix of service, install, and maintenance revenue — a residential replacement shop and a service-heavy operation don't get the same plan.

Map-pack visibility

Google Business Profile configured for a service-area business, review velocity built into your techs' routine, and local pages that support emergency-intent searches.

Replacement campaigns

Meta ads aimed at the planned buyer: aging-system education, seasonal early-replacement angles, and retargeting for quote-stage homeowners.

A website built for both buyers

Emergency callers need a phone number and proof fast; researchers need services, financing answers, and reviews. One site, two paths, zero friction.

Seasonal calendar

Tune-up pushes in the shoulders, capacity-aware campaigns in the peaks, maintenance-plan drives year-round — planned before the season, not during it.

Retention engine

Email and SMS for maintenance reminders, plan renewals, and seasonal prep — the cheapest revenue on the calendar.

Job-type tracking

Call tracking and form measurement that separates service calls from quoted installs, so spend follows the jobs that pay.

The map-pack work runs on our local SEO and Google Business Profile management services; replacement campaigns run on Meta ads management. If your trade is adjacent — plumbing, electrical, roofing — the contractors page covers the broader playbook. The visibility-and-tracking spine underneath it all is already written down, applied to other economics, in our published case studies.

Measurement

Count trucks rolling, not clicks clicking.

Booked calls by channel and job type

Emergency service, quoted replacement, or maintenance sign-up — attributed to the channel that produced it. The mix matters more than the total.

Cost per quoted install opportunity

The number that justifies the budget. A replacement quote request is worth a very different spend than a filter change.

Map-pack position and profile actions

Calls, direction requests, and website clicks from your Google Business Profile, tracked by service area.

Plan growth and renewal rate

Maintenance agreements signed and kept — the metric that predicts next year better than any ad dashboard.

HVAC questions

What owners and ops managers ask first.

Which matters more for HVAC: Google or Facebook?

For emergency work, Google — nobody scrolls Instagram while their house is 90 degrees; they search, call the first credible result, and it's over. For planned replacements and maintenance plans, Meta ads earn their keep: the research window is weeks long, and being the company a homeowner already recognizes changes which quotes they request. Most HVAC companies need the map pack first and paid social second.

Can marketing fix our slow shoulder seasons?

It can soften them, honestly. Spring and fall are when tune-up offers, maintenance-plan pushes, and early-replacement campaigns ('replace on your schedule, not in a heat wave') do their work. What marketing can't do is invent demand equal to a July heat dome — so we plan shoulder seasons around retention and pipeline-building rather than pretending they're August.

How do you track where our calls come from?

Call tracking numbers by channel, form and booking tracking on the website, and direction-request data from your Google Business Profile. Every review of your numbers separates emergency calls, quoted replacements, and maintenance sign-ups — because a $200 service call and a five-figure install shouldn't be counted as the same 'lead'.

We run several trucks across two counties. Does that change the plan?

It changes the geography, not the system. Service-area businesses get radius and zip-level targeting matched to where trucks actually roll, and your Google Business Profile gets configured properly as a service-area business. What we won't do is spin up doorway pages for every town — that game is dead and Google knows it.

Do you understand maintenance agreements?

Yes — and we think they're the most under-marketed asset in HVAC. Maintenance plans smooth revenue across seasons, put you first in line for the eventual replacement, and turn one transaction into a relationship. Email and SMS do the heavy lifting here, and the economics usually justify real acquisition spend.
