So the brief isn't "look professional." Job one: project galleries with real specifics

The portfolio is the first thing every audience checks and the last thing most elevator manufacturer sites do well. A grid of dim cab photos with no captions proves you own a camera, not that you can execute someone's project. A gallery that sells has:

Cab and interior work is substantially a materials decision — metals, woods, laminates, glass, stone, lighting — and the design conversation happens finish-first. If your options live in a PDF from 2015 or behind "call for details," you've exited that conversation. The site should present materials and finishes as a catalog: navigable categories, decent imagery of each option, and enough naming consistency that a designer can reference a specific finish in an email to their client. That's not merchandising vanity — it's how you get named in a spec you never saw.

Job three: technical information without a phone call

Consultants and engineers need dimensions, materials data, and configuration details at the moment they're writing or reviewing a spec — often outside your business hours. Every technical question the site can answer is a call they don't have to make and a reason to keep you in the document:

  • Spec sheets and product data reachable in a couple of clicks — as readable pages first, downloadable documents second.
  • Capability boundaries stated plainly: what you fabricate, size envelopes, what's custom versus standard.

General contractors price many trades under deadline pressure. A generic contact form makes them do your intake work — summarize the project, guess what you need to know — and busy estimators simply won't. The quote request should be structured like the start of a real commercial inquiry:

  1. Project type and scope, selected from options that mirror your product lines.
  2. Building and location context, because it shapes logistics and code questions.
  3. Timeline, since bid dates drive everything on their side.
  4. Drawing and spec uploads — serious inquiries have documents.
  5. Who's asking and their role, so routing and follow-up start immediately.

Structured this way, the form qualifies while it converts: your sales team opens each conversation with context instead of an interrogation, and low-intent submissions filter themselves out. Then respond fast — by RFQ time a GC is usually pricing multiple fabricators, and the first substantive human reply frames the comparison.

Job five: credibility for a risk-averse buyer

An elevator interior is a highly visible, hard-to-redo installation in someone else's building. The people approving it are professionally risk-averse, and they read your site for risk signals: Is this a real shop? Do they finish what they start? Will they exist in five years? Credibility here is cumulative and specific — real photos of your facility and people rather than stock imagery, project specifics rather than adjectives, plain-language statements of process and standards, and current content (a "news" page that died years ago signals more than it says). Nothing on this list is expensive. All of it is checked.
